We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician to join our team at Wexford Health Sources. Job Summary:The Physician will practice medicine in a manner consistent with their clinical privileges, work collegially with the Medical Director and clinical staff, and actively participate in discussions regarding quality of care, patient safety, and patient complaints/grievances.
Responsibilities:- Provide quality medical care to patients, including evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of acute and chronic medical issues
- Ensure that the health care unit operation is in compliance with facility standards and that the scope of care provided is appropriate for the staffing and resources available
- Participate in the development of proposed priorities for services and programs, and assist in the review of corporate, state, and site-specific medical practices
- Effectively communicate with the Medical Director and site clinical and administrative staff to keep them informed of issues in a timely manner
- Participate in Wexford Health site meetings/committees, and participate in the recruitment/interviewing of qualified medical and clinical staff as requested
- Current New Mexico Medical license required
- Current New Mexico Controlled Substance license required
- Current DEA required
- Current CPR Certification
- Board certification preferred
- Medical Degree required
- 2 years experience in an institutional healthcare setting preferred, with correctional healthcare experience preferred
