Job Summary

Saia is seeking a highly skilled Labor and Employment Attorney to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will provide expert guidance on employment law matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice on employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, terminations, accommodations, unemployment, and employee pay and benefits.
  • Evaluate and respond to EEOC and other agency discrimination charges and employment-related complaints.
  • Create and deliver training programs for HR professionals on trends, recent developments, and noteworthy employment issues impacting the workplace.
  • Handle various aspects of employment-related litigation, such as gathering internal information for regulatory and litigation discovery requests.
  • Draft, prepare, and review claims, contracts, and other documentation.
  • Manage affirmative action planning, including ensuring compliance with state and federal non-discrimination laws and regulations.
  • Draft, modify, administer, and enforce company policies, including creating strategies for monitoring and preventing employment and labor law violations.
  • Review and provide advice on employee communications, HR policies and procedures, and related legislation.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • 3+ years of experience working in employment and labor law.
  • Prior experience implementing and managing affirmative action plans.
  • Solid understanding of risk and compliance principles and frameworks.
