Job Summary

Vestis is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our industrial laundry facility, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all plant equipment, including high-volume industrial washers and dryers, to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Repair and replace equipment as needed, performing basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues using technical manuals and schematics, and order necessary parts and tools in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily removal and processing of waste solids generated from the treatment process.
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, make necessary repairs, and complete preventative maintenance and housekeeping practices for all related wastewater hardware.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, observing best practices in all production activities.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated mechanical and basic electrical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with standard maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, and proper safety techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial laundry equipment and required codes.
  • Ability to comprehend and perform all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
  • Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Environment

This role requires working in a high-volume production warehouse setting, regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold conditions, as well as dust and noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

This position requires the ability to routinely move, lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. It also requires bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, and lifting, as well as standing and walking for long periods of time.

This role requires the use of hands for grasping and other manipulations, and working from elevated heights using ladders, mezzanines, and aerial lifts.
