We're seeking an experienced Architectural Sales Representative to join our team, responsible for increasing construction specifications for our entire product portfolio. This role involves identifying and developing relationships with architects, designers, specification writers, and other industry professionals to influence the inclusion of our products or services in project specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Drive Market Share: Provide architectural design expertise to drive market share to architects, designers, contractors, developers, and end-users.
- Collaborate with Design Teams: Collaborate with designers/architects and internal teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and design preferences.
- Update Product Specifications: Review existing specifications and update product specifications, including materials, finishes, and technical details, in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Develop Design Concepts: Work with Marketing to create detailed social media campaigns, samples, renderings, and visually communicate design concepts and solutions.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Conduct product research and stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and building codes to provide relevant design recommendations.
- Liaise with Clients and Teams: Function as a liaison between clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to address design-related inquiries, clarifications, and modifications.
- Attend Industry Events: Attend industry events to present design concepts, specifications, which represent our company's offerings.
- Manage CRM Opportunities: Become head facilitator of CRM opportunities, tasks, contacts, and pipeline to ensure sales team engagement with architects and distributors.
- Develop Performance Specifications: Identify and develop performance vs. proprietary specifications, as well as work with sales and marketing team members on front-end specifications.
- Collect Feedback and Best Practices: Gather feedback and best practices from customers/end-users and external sources, communicate these findings internally, and provide solutions to enhance our product portfolio.
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
- Aesthetic and Functional Knowledge: Meticulous with a keen eye for aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability in design.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with construction materials, finishes, and building systems would be an asset.
- Problem-Solving: Problem-solving mindset and ability to propose innovative design solutions.
- Collaboration and People Skills: Strong collaboration and people skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Relevant Degree: Degree in Architecture, or Interior Design, Business, Marketing.
- Specification Experience: 3-5 years of Specification experience in Division 10 or related field would be an asset, ideally in a technical support/construction sales role.
- CAD and Design Visualization Skills: Understanding of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and design visualization tools (e.g., SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- CRM and Construction Software: Knowledge of CRM and Construction software (Dodge, Construct Connect).
- AIA/CSI Membership: AIA/CSI Membership an asset.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
