About This Role

At Prisma Health, we are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify patients using two demographic identifiers and review physician orders for the procedure to be performed.
  • Perform all ultrasound procedures using independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Communicate findings to the appropriate physician and ensure that all appropriate consents are signed.
  • Stay abreast of organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations and maintain a sanitary and organized environment.
  • Perform quality checks on sonograms and recognize issues, making recommendations for corrections.
  • Assist other sonographers with complex studies that require a higher skill level and troubleshoot problems including but not limited to PACS and ultrasound equipment.

Requirements

  • Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • BLS certification.
  • Proficient in the use of telephone equipment, oral and written communication skills, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of office equipment, data entry, mathematical skills, and patient equipment.

Work Environment

This is a PRN, Nights position at the Greer Medical Campus, 1004 Greer Memorial Hospital, Department of Ultrasound.
