Job Summary

At Prisma Health, we are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patients using two demographic identifiers and review physician orders for the procedure to be performed.
  • Check for appropriate clinical information and expected date, as well as procedural contraindications.
  • Perform all Ultrasound procedures using independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Ensure imaging quality meets quality control standards and stay up-to-date with organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes.
Requirements
  • Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Must obtain one or more of the following credentials with ARDMS: Abdomen, OBGYN, and Pediatric.
  • BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT in Radiology.
  • PACS experience.
Work Environment

This is a PRN, variable shifts position at the Greer Medical Campus, 1004 Greer Memorial Hospital, Department of Ultrasound.
