Job Summary
We're seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our dynamic team in St. Paul, MN. As a key player in our Water Business Line, you'll take charge of efficiently executing and ensuring top-notch quality in our Water projects. Your role involves assessing work elements, materials, design details, and project conditions to provide invaluable recommendations for successfully completing projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand and interpret local, state, and/or federal Standard Specifications and Procedures.
- Observe and document the contractor's work to record that it is being completed in conformance with the plans and specifications, contract documents, and applicable local, state, and/or federal regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and use independent discretion and judgment to resolve work problems, including client, contractor, or public complaints and grievances.
- Coordinate and attend progress meetings with the client and other key stakeholders.
- Perform material yield checks, verifies tolerances, and elemental thicknesses, measures and quantifies pay item quantities for payment.
- Be proficient in the use of computers and word processing software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Maintain neat and accurate project documentation (field book notes and measurements, field reports, project binders, photos, etc.) for small projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- 2- 5 years of related Construction observation experience working with conveyance and treatment plant construction plans is preferred.
- Familiarity with documentation requirements and inspection procedures is preferred.
- Excellent time management, communication, and technical skills are required.
- Must possess knowledge of MS Office suite of products.
- Basic proficiency in Bluebeam and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Requires regular travel to and from remote worksites.
Certificates and Licenses
- Must possess certificates or be willing to obtain NASSCO Inspector Training for Cured-in-Place-Pipe; OSHA 40-hour and Confined Space Training.
- The employee must be capable of driving/operating a motor vehicle for company business and maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residence.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be capable of carrying up to 40 pounds of equipment over all types of terrain and in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to transverse on all types of project sites including industrial, commercial, and undeveloped ground.
Must be willing to travel on short- or long-term assignments at client locations to complete assigned work.
