Feedlot Specialist

The J.R. Simplot Company is a leading global food and agriculture company with a diverse portfolio of businesses. We are seeking a skilled Feedlot Doctor to join our team at the L&L Feedlot Pasco - Burbank location.

The Feedlot Doctor will be responsible for diagnosing and treating livestock in the feedlot, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals. This role requires a strong understanding of animal health, medicine, and feedlot operations.

• Examine and medically treat livestock according to established protocols
• Administer treatment in a humane manner and in accordance with product labeling
• Record and track animal health data, including treatment administered and animal outcomes
• Assist in maintaining accurate medicine inventory and ordering supplies as needed
• Ensure hospital cattle have sufficient feed and water, and maintain cleanliness of feed bunks
• Conduct post-mortem examinations to determine cause of death
• Comply with all applicable safety rules and policies

• Ability to accurately read and record large volumes of numbers
• Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Database software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances

The work environment is typical of a feedlot, with exposure to airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is moderate.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
