We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team at Corewell Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate efficient patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by providers.
- Perform administrative duties, maintaining and updating patient information, and monitoring electronic health records.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, reporting equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient needs and documenting care according to standards.
- Engage in process improvement activities, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and implement new services.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
- 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
- One of the following certifications required within 120 days: AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 120 days.
This role is based at our Hughes Professional Center location in Grand Rapids, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
