Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our ICU Stepdown team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs
• Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards
• Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence
• Participate in the development and maintenance of established hospital policies, procedures, and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection prevention programs

Requirements

• Accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• Specialty certification (Preferred)
• One year of recent (within the last 36 months) Registered nurse in progressive care/step down (intermediate level) experience required or currently oriented and can provide care independently within the department, required
• Demonstrated competence in area of expertise
• Previous Leadership Experience is preferred
• Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• ACLS according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy

Working Conditions

• Lifting: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH)
• Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures
• Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts)
• Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA)
• Ability to move around area with frequent sitting
• Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently
• Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently
