About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for operating advanced nuclear medicine equipment and providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Image Acquisition and Analysis: Determine the most effective image scan technique and position for patients, utilizing immobilization and support devices as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate sophisticated nuclear medicine equipment, adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Coordinate quality control activities, ensuring optimal image quality and disseminating exams to nuclear medicine technologists.
  • Training and Development: Provide instruction and orientation to new technologists, facilitating their effective participation in performance reviews.
  • Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Participate in problem-solving initiatives addressing patient care, department operations, quality assurance procedures, interdepartmental relationships, and employee morale.
  • Professional Standards: Maintain a professional standard, presenting a positive image of Advocate Aurora Health.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Must be a graduate from an accredited AMA School of Nuclear Medicine. New graduates are accepted.
  • Certifications and Licenses: IEMA accreditation in Medical Radiation Technology, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registered (ARRT) and certified in nuclear medicine (NM), or Certified by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT). CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work rotating shifts, including any day of the week. Must be able to lift and/or move patients, with heavy lifting occasionally (50-100 pounds) and frequently (25-50 pounds). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.
  • Exposure to Hazardous Materials: May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. Radiation exposure is also a possibility.
