Job Title: Safety Specialist

Job Summary:

The Safety Specialist is responsible for coordinating the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs related to OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies for the entire plant location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enforce company safety policies
  • Coordinate and conduct safety trainings
  • Safety orientation for new employees
  • Perform jobsite Safety Evaluations
  • Conduct accident/injury reporting which includes identifying root cause and contributing causes
  • Perform clerical duties related to the Safety department including but not limited to completing inspection logs, training certificates, forms (disciplinary action for safety violations), etc.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Safety or equivalent or two years' experience as a safety professional or a combination of both
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player
  • Must be able to train other employees effectively
  • Experience working with quality systems is preferred
