Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Specialist to join our team at Doherty Staffing Solutions. As a Manufacturing Specialist, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining a variety of press equipment. This includes performing make-ready tasks, such as mounting plates or installing print cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, and checking for correct positioning of images. You will also be responsible for making necessary color corrections and adjustments prior to the production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Additionally, you will clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a variety of press equipment
  • Perform make-ready tasks, such as mounting plates or installing print cylinders
  • Examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and check for correct positioning of images
  • Make necessary color corrections and adjustments prior to the production run
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press
  • Make minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of thorough knowledge of Flexographic printing procedures, materials, and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments
  • Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings, and materials needed to run the job successfully
  • Ability to make a variety of difficult precise web paths and adjustments and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment
  • Skilled in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, Excel, Word, and Google preferred
  • Ability to use Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, or Webtron preferred
