About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Technical Advisor to join our team at Wabtec Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on materials management, inventory accuracy, and work order consumption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials from suppliers, warehouse, and within departments according to production schedules.
  • Plan and schedule material/production needs, ensuring a deep understanding of material and MRP concepts, methods, and procedures.
  • Lead a team of hourly employees in the execution of activities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
  • Ensure inventory and MRP accuracy through activities such as cycle counts, warehouse and offsite supplier audits, physical inventory, and more.
  • Work to prevent material shortages to production lines, achieving positive results in MTA metrics, including material availability, inventory, renewal parts OTD, NCMR closure, and more.
  • Create and execute continuous improvement projects to deliver efficiency, safety, and cost savings for the team, material controllers, production lines, or the shop as a whole.
  • Manage and give daily direction to a team of hourly employees, developing and following standard work, ensuring accountability, and growing, training, and educating teammates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree; Or a 2-year degree with 2 years of professional work experience; Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Operations or Military Service.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a shop environment.
  • Ability to complete Wabtec's Level 1 Technical Advisor Training Certification.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications.
  • Previous supervisory experience, materials knowledge, and MRP experience.
  • Previous experience in logistics and warehousing.
