Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Dental Assisting Faculty Member to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our dental assisting program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Prepare and deliver lectures, create and update course materials, and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Classroom and Lab Management: Acquire and organize materials and equipment, set up labs, and maintain inventory control.
  • Student Support: Tutor students, provide guidance and feedback, and ensure student understanding and skill development.
  • Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Maintain clinical and sterilization equipment, conduct water testing, and keep the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) manual updated.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with reading and research in the field of dental assisting, select and integrate new audiovisual materials, and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Program Chair, ensuring the smooth operation of the dental assisting program.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 1 or more years of clinical practice in a dental office, CPR certified, graduate of an Accredited Dental Assisting Program, and Certified Dental Assistant.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in a CODA Accredited Dental Assisting Program, clinical experience in General Dentistry.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time faculty position with varying work hours based on semester. The successful candidate will be required to work at various locations and times to accommodate the needs of students, the program, and the college.
