Job Title: Delivery Manager

Costco Wholesale IT is seeking a highly skilled Delivery Manager to lead our delivery teams in achieving exceptional results. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale programs with complex integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall solution delivery and support of large-scale programs with complex integrations.
  • Define mitigation strategies to remediate risks & issues.
  • Assist teams to ensure that the value being delivered aligns to the product vision defined by product managers.
  • Facilitate program increment (PI) sessions across all delivery pods aligned to a product, or value stream, and the accompanying planning sessions (pre and post PI planning sessions).
  • Work with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to plan release schedules across products.
  • Support product teams with the delivery of new features and capabilities while empowering them and allowing them to be self-organized.
  • Lead program increment retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities that can be implemented to improve productivity.
  • Monitor delivery team metrics to evaluate progress against delivery milestones (e.g., release burnups).
  • Aggregate individual delivery pod status into portfolio-level risks, assumptions, and interdependencies.
  • Create weekly reports highlighting the health of the overall delivery status to program leadership and various stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration between the delivery pods and stakeholders at the product level.
  • Lead regular "Scrum-of-Scrum" meetings with Scrum Masters from all product teams to drive alignment across development activities and review blockers or impediments impacting team productivity.
  • Coordinate the resolution of internal and external dependencies across value streams and shared services.
  • Drive tactical day-to-day delivery process, including removing impediments that negatively impact productivity or block the team's process.
  • Ensure effective communication, collaboration, coordination and team engagement in initiatives that cut across portfolios and products.
  • Work with product owners to plan release schedules from the technology perspective (i.e. coordinate teams for delivery against release schedule).
  • Work with stakeholders to create a high-level preliminary release and project delivery plans for product features.
  • Adhere to technology standards while developing systems.
  • Establish and organize application development plans that align with the goals and strategies.
  • Revises standards in response to change.
  • Understand Resource Management and the value of the resource management; and may practice one or more behaviors associated with the skill.
  • Apply standard techniques and tools to carry out analysis and performance monitoring activities for specified products.
  • Support problem resolution; resolves issues; and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.
  • Provide input to the requirements base-line.
  • Investigate, manage, and apply authorized requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.
  • Provide guidance and best practices for the team in one or more Agile Methodologies/Processes (such as Scrum, SAFe, Kanban etc).
  • Understand the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework and works with the team to measure outcomes.
  • Helps with the allocation of resources and provides teams with the necessary support to remediate impediments and reported issues as well as can understand the technical language at an Engineering level to address issues and or estimates work time for stories as accurately as the Engineers themselves.
  • Work with Product Owners, DDMs, UX, and Principal Engineers to plan release schedules across products.
  • Understand and execute test automation processes and the importance for agile delivery.
  • Support product teams with the delivery of new features and capabilities while empowering them and allowing them to be self-organized as well as learns and iterates with team(s) to optimize delivery processes.
  • Support the Product Manager with the facilitation of system demos to demonstrate the integration of products to program stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive visibility and effectively communicates delivery targets, commitments, and progress.
  • Create weekly reports highlighting the health of the overall delivery status to program leadership and various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the PO; this role coaches' teams to improve collaboration and outcomes, activities and review blockers or impediments impacting team productivity (ART Sync).
  • Confirm team meets security and governance requirements, as well as understands engineering delivery processes and change management.
  • Manage budgets, SOW's and works through the approval process for Governance and financial review.
  • Set clear expectations for self and others and takes appropriate actions to ensure obligations are met.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Delivery Manager (RTE) and/or Program/Project Manager.
  • Experience designing and implementing Agile or DevOps processes in the SCRUM, SAFE or other methodologies.
  • Good general understanding of the role of product managers, product designers, engineers, quality assurance and devops.
  • Proven track record for successful delivery of projects and working cross-functionally with business and IT.
  • Past experience leading development teams in Agile.
  • Ability to create and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and report critical paths.

Recommended:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, and/or SAFe RTE certifications.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
  • 5 years of Agile practices.
  • 5 years of project or Delivery Management experience.
  • Knowledge of Ecommerce systems.
