Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Registered Nurse

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit team. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will work under the direction of the Director to provide high-quality nursing care to patients with epilepsy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with epilepsy
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk
  • Document patient care in medical records
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to lift and move patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Personal Protective Equipment:

The Cleveland Clinic follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
