Purpose: The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering direct patient care, adhering to the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA). This position requires collaboration with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs and develop care plans.
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions in alignment with hospital policies and standards.
- Demonstrate leadership and a commitment to professional development.
Education and Experience Requirements: Candidates must have graduated from an accredited nursing program with at least an Associate's Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New York and Connecticut.
- New graduates may be considered pending licensure at the discretion of the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Preferred certifications include those endorsed by the American Nurses Association or the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses.
Training Requirements: Various training certifications are required or preferred based on the specific nursing area, including:
- BLS - Required upon hire
- ACLS - Required for specific units
- PALS - Required for pediatric areas
- Other certifications as applicable to the nursing specialty
Work Schedule: This position is per diem with a night shift schedule.
Salary: Competitive hourly rate.
