Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least two years of finance, accounting, or directly related experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review work products in detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You will need to possess:

  • Knowledge of grants lifecycles, financial processes, and budgeting.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize day-to-day activities by urgency and importance.
  • Ability to make informed, objective decisions and refer to leadership when needed.
  • Ability to operate as a team player and communicate specialized knowledge to other professionals, management, and external contacts.
Physical Requirements

This role involves sedentary work, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand or walk for brief periods.

Veteran's Preference

Cook County Government offers a preference in the application process to honorably discharged Veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States for more than 180 consecutive days, or during War Time. To take advantage of this preference, you must:

  • Meet the minimum qualifications for the position.
  • Identify yourself as a Veteran on your employment application.
