Position Summary:
The Laboratory Director is responsible for organizing, directing, and overseeing all operations within the Laboratory department. This role ensures adherence to established policies and procedures, maintains appropriate staffing levels, and guarantees that supplies and equipment are adequately stocked. The director will integrate the laboratory efficiently with other hospital departments, develop and manage the departmental budget, and promote continuous performance improvement. Participation in required meetings and encouragement of educational advancement for staff is essential, as is ensuring that employees complete necessary annual evaluations and competency assessments.
Job Requirements:
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology is required.
Certification: Candidates must possess certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or an equivalent certification.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in a laboratory environment is required.
