Job Description:We are seeking a Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team in the ICU Nights department.
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the care of critically ill medical and surgical adolescent/adult patients.
- Provides acute care per protocols and assists with special procedures.
- Directs the care delivered by patient care partners and other healthcare team members in the department.
- Collaborates with Physicians to evaluate patient readiness for change in level of care and cares for med surg and telemetry patients as necessary.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Interpreting and operating cardiac and other invasive and noninvasive monitors, recognizing normal/abnormal rhythms/trends, and instituting appropriate interventions.
- Caring for patients with complex needs, including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.
- Initiating and maintaining complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters, and arterial lines.
- Safely using less invasive life-supporting modalities, such as BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure-based CO/CI, and SVO2 monitor, core temperature monitors.
This position requires:
- At least 1 year of critical care experience in an ICU setting
- Current IL RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified through American Heart Association
- OCN Certification within 18 months of hire or 36 total CE in Oncology every Commission of Cancer cycle of three years with completion of 12 CE every year
We offer a competitive salary range of $105,000 - $130,000 annually, based on experience. We also provide excellent benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
About the Location:Our hospital is located in the beautiful city of DuPage, IL, offering easy access to major highways, airports, and public transportation.
Estimated Salary: $115,000/year
