We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager - Rail Operations to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our rail services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our rail services, including safety, contract administration, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
  • Lead and manage a team of operations staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including safety, maintenance, and customer service, to ensure a seamless and efficient operation.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that operations staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those related to safety and customer service.
Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in railway operations, with at least 8 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven track record of improving efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of contract and project management, including experience with labor relations and collective bargaining.
  • Ability to make presentations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
