Substation Journeyman Opportunity

PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Substation Journeyman to join our team in Moab, UT. As a key member of our electrical infrastructure team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing substation equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of substation equipment, apparatus, and wiring, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You will work independently and collaboratively with others to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our substation equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, test, and repair substation equipment, including transformers, regulators, load tap changers, circuit breakers, and bus work.
  • Operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding.
  • Perform testing on substation apparatus, such as power factor, transformer turns ratio, and megger testing.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and practices, and actively maintaining an accident-free workplace.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Substation journeyman certification or enrollment in a substation journeyman training program.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Ability to complete the substation journeyman training program.
  • Pass a post-offer, pre-placement physical capacity screening to ensure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job.
