About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Reliability Manager to join our Services Engineering team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and running the services that ingest and process content destined for all Apple Service offerings around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, deploy, support, and monitor new and existing cloud-based services to ensure media and applications consumed by millions of customers a day are processed quickly, reliably, and efficiently.
  • Partner closely with development teams to build software and systems to manage infrastructure and applications through automation.
  • Measure and optimize system performance and availability, and plan for capacity and scalability.
  • Explore and evaluate new technologies and solutions to push our capabilities forward.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of building and managing high-performance SRE teams.
  • Experience with distributed systems in a production operations environment.
  • Experience applying software engineering to solve large-scale operational problems, preferably in Java and Golang.
  • Experience building and managing mission-critical systems on top of modern cloud services.
  • Deep systems and infrastructure knowledge.
  • Proven ability to improve service reliability and efficiency while lowering operational costs.
  • Experience with SRE goals, processes, and culture.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time with high quality.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Strong systems programming skills and knowledge of operating system fundamentals.
