Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pump Shop Helper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting technicians in the cleaning, painting, testing, binning, and partial disassembly of AC/DC motors and pumps.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance of service truck tools, safety equipment, instruments, and materials, specific to pump, motor, and equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Support mechanics with the disassembly of pump and motor assemblies.
  • Clean parts using a sandblaster and air tools.
  • Maintain shop areas clean from debris.
  • Assist in the maintenance of required stock of pumps, parts, fittings, pipe, and related material on the service truck.
  • Perform cleaning and lubricating of tools as required.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and work well with others or in a team setting.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.
  • Observe safe work practices and safety methods; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma, GED equivalent, or Trade School Diploma.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from sketches, books, blueprints, and specifications or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with various hand tools.
  • Familiarity with power tools such as impact guns, cut off wheels, and drills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 100 pounds.
  • Must have a valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or reaching.
  • You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery.
