Job Summary

Morris Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our general services crew as a Laborer/Pipe Layer. This role involves performing various tasks to ensure quality product delivery, including preparation, equipment operation, and pipe installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare work areas, including cleaning and clearing debris.
  • Operate small equipment, such as rollers and dump trucks, as needed.
  • Install and fit pipes and associated appurtenances, following instructions from the foreman.
  • Perform fine grading and manual placement of pipe bedding.
  • Inspect trench walls for soft spots or cracks, ensuring safety and preventing collapse.
  • Construct sewer manholes, including finishing poured-in-place concrete inverts and setting up sewer lasers.
  • Operate mechanized equipment, such as front-end loaders and backhoes.
  • Align and position pipes for welding or sealing.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
Requirements
  • Dependability and ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Physical ability to perform manual work, stand for long periods, and lift at least 75 lbs.
  • Experience preferred, but willingness to train the right candidate.
