POSITION SUMMARY:

As a pivotal member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, you will be responsible for the financial assessment of operating expenses in support of SG&A and research functions. A primary focus will be on fostering relationships and influencing decision-making across a cross-functional landscape to ensure financial outcomes align with business strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Operating Expenses:
  • Collaborate with Research, Commercial, Marketing, and other enabling functions to grasp business challenges and enhance decision-making through financial analysis.
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and monthly reporting of actual results for Research, SG&A, and corporate administration expenses, including communication with business partners.
  • Develop enhanced management reporting, including dashboards and variance analysis, scrutinize financial outcomes, synthesize issues, and relay findings to senior management.
  • Prepare financial presentations for Members Committee Board meetings.
Commercial Operations:
  • Support sales incentive compensation frameworks and agent commission agreements, including the creation of models to forecast expected costs and evaluate plan fundamentals year-over-year to ensure alignment with sales and financial objectives.
  • Assess pricing and market development to optimize sales against financial targets, ensuring compliance with Finance department policies and procedures.
  • Conduct post-season evaluations on the effectiveness of market development and customer incentive initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Commercial to understand business challenges and enhance decision-making processes.
  • Proactively lead continuous improvement initiatives to deliver value to the organization.
  • Engage in special projects as directed by Finance and/or the business.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline is required; MBA, CPA, or CMA is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a business-related field, with a preference for analysis and modeling experience.
  • Experience with SAP ERP (FI/CO) is required.
  • Familiarity with EPM software (OLAP, BI) for financial planning and analysis is essential.
  • Experience in the agricultural seed or chemistry industry is advantageous.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, comprehend end-to-end business processes, and translate business impacts into financial statements.
