Your Responsibilities
Conduct service and troubleshooting for all water-based fire sprinkler systems, including but not limited to fire pump systems and backflow devices, encompassing repairs and internal inspections.
Execution of Duties
- This role does not involve on-call responsibilities.
- Service and troubleshoot all water-based fire sprinkler systems, including fire pump systems and backflow devices, performing repairs and internal inspections as necessary.
- Interpret and follow both verbal and written instructions, and comprehend complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications related to installation tasks.
- Handle equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks in various positions, including climbing ladders and using high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring proper disposal of all waste associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection operations. Utilize appropriate safety gear as required, including bump caps and safety-toed boots.
- Secure all Johnson Controls Fire Protection tools and equipment at the end of each work period to prevent damage or loss.
- Complete and submit time reports and other required documentation.
- Promptly report any changes, discrepancies, or coordination issues to the dispatcher/supervisor that may affect operations or schedules.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications We Seek
Essential
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- F2 License Required
- Massachusetts License Required
- Minimum of three years of industry experience.
- Proficient understanding of all water-based fire sprinkler systems.
- Clean driving record is mandatory.
- Valid US driver's license.
- Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to work alternate shifts or weekends as needed to meet customer service requirements.
- Where legally permissible, candidates must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by their start date unless exempt due to a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
Preferred
- Sprinkler and Backflow licenses are advantageous. Candidates must be willing to obtain these upon hire.
- NICET certification is a plus.
