About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our railcar systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve complex malfunctions in railcar systems, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, and propulsion systems.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on railcar systems, including replacement of defective parts and rewiring of faulty circuitry.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work is done in compliance with regulatory standards, including FRA, Bombardier, and customer requirements.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with other technicians and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth operation of railcar systems.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role; experience with railcar systems and maintenance preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics; proficiency with Windows software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds on a rare basis; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and climb on a regular basis.
