Job Description

Selectek is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials per project specifications and requirements while utilizing company standards and construction methods.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the engineering team, client, and production personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Create and/or change models, drawings, and cut lists in SolidWorks with minimal assistance.
  • Design with proper tolerancing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Execute standards throughout work and continually drive to improve current standards.
  • Execute ECNs with an understanding of how requested changes affect the organization and customer.
  • Make technical presentations internally and for customers to communicate design decisions and project progress.
  • Establish timelines and adhere to them to ensure project completion within the allotted timeframe.
  • Design retail fixtures for manufacturability and assembly processes to optimize production efficiency.
  • Identify and incorporate best practices that will improve productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in an engineering field with a minimum 2 years' relevant work experience, or Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and think critically.
  • Understanding of material characteristics, capabilities, limitations, and applications.
  • Knowledge of ERP system regarding item and BOM creation.
  • Demonstrate impeccable quality in all aspects of engineering.
  • Proficient in supporting multiple customers and working in a team environment.
  • Proficient in company manufacturing methods and machinery capability.
  • Proficient in construction methods and design for manufacturability (DFM)/assembly (DFA).
  • Proficient in standard materials and calculating material yields.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and other relevant software.
Working Conditions

The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced engineering environment with a focus on delivering high-quality results. The position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Selectek offers a competitive salary range of $28.85/hour - $33.65/hour ($60,000 - $70,000 annual salary) and a 6-month temp to perm opportunity with direct hire available if necessary. The position is located in Milwaukee, WI, and requires a business casual work attire. A background check and drug test are required for this position.
