Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Sanitation Services Specialist is tasked with ensuring a pristine work environment in designated areas, demonstrating a commitment to service excellence. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing needs within the assigned space, along with a keen attention to detail and effective communication skills. Responsibilities may vary based on location, site requirements, and organizational needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute Environmental Services tasks efficiently, adhering to all steps in the 7 Step Cleaning Process.
- Carry out assigned duties according to established quality standards to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cleaning carts, equipment, and storage areas, ensuring all cleaning materials are properly labeled.
- Safely utilize cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform cleaning duties in offices, patient/resident rooms, classrooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, food service areas, and any other spaces requiring attention.
- Conduct sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of hallways, staircases, and office spaces.
- Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, windows, and window treatments.
- Empty trash and recycling containers, transporting waste to external disposal areas as needed.
- Restock supplies and materials as necessary.
- Assist in moving furniture and setting up tables and chairs.
- Alert supervisors regarding any maintenance repair needs.
- Participate in regular safety meetings, training sessions, and hazard assessments.
- Adhere to all applicable OSHA and local safety regulations in all assigned tasks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in janitorial services within a commercial setting is required.
- Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently is required.
- While standard hours of operation are typically maintained, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours may be necessary.
- This role requires periods of sitting, standing, and engaging in telephone and computer work.
- Hearing: Adequate to communicate with clients or patients in person, over the phone, or through telehealth technology.
- Speaking: Adequate to converse with clients or patients in person, over the phone, or through telehealth technology.
- Vision: Sufficient visual acuity to perform job duties, including reading printed materials and computer screens.
- Physical effort: Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing job duties.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, along with standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with regular lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
- Ability to operate a PC and other office equipment with sufficient dexterity.
