Position Overview:

The Cashier/Barista plays a vital role in providing exceptional service by processing payments for food and beverages while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This position also involves assisting the Host/Hostess in greeting and seating guests promptly and supporting servers as necessary.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.
  • Quick decision-making skills to evaluate and choose among various options.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Proactive approach to job responsibilities, anticipating needs before they arise.
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines.
  • Competence in resolving workplace issues, including identifying and addressing potential problems.
  • Ability to process complex information from various sources and adapt as needed.
  • Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns from guests and colleagues.
  • Basic financial literacy and arithmetic skills.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in line with hospitality standards, adapting to the hotel's scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance, including proper uniform and nametag.
  • Adhere to all hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Foster a warm and welcoming environment for all guests.
  • Exhibit attentiveness, friendliness, and courtesy towards guests, managers, and fellow employees.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, providing correct change.
  • Operate the designated credit card processing equipment.
  • Prepare end-of-shift cashier reports.
  • Disburse tips to servers and service attendants as applicable.
  • Timely greet and seat guests at appropriate tables.
  • Execute opening and closing duties as per established checklists.
  • Remain attentive to guests' needs, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
  • Accurately take reservations for all dining outlets.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of menus and current specials.
  • Answer phone calls in accordance with established standards.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously over the phone.
  • Process room service orders following hotel protocols.
  • Assist servers and host/hostess in serving guests as required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentation quality of menus.
  • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
