Job Summary

The Automation Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading automation and controls systems involving HMI, MMI, PLCs, SCADA, and robotic systems. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in HMI/MMI, PLC, and robot troubleshooting with major industry software packages such as Allen Bradley, Wonderware, Siemens, Automation Direct, Fanuc, ABB, Harmo, Whittmann, Sepro, etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) for various products and implement with machine integrations.
  • Troubleshoot, install, and upgrade all electrical, mechanical, and controls on all automation equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot all types of robots, PLCs, motion controls, variable speed drives, and vision applications with various communication protocols.
  • Interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and document changes.
  • Order, maintain, and systematically upgrade all spare parts and inventory.
  • Perform evaluations to enhance machine efficiency rates and control parameters with engineering.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment in accordance with ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NFPA70E, etc. standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical and automation maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • 2+ years of experience with 3-phase motor (high and low voltage) repair.
  • 2+ years of experience with servo motor repair.
  • 2+ years of experience in the repair of robots such as Ranger, Harmo, Wittman, KM, Sepro, ABB, and Fanuc.
  • 2+ years of experience with ladder logic.
  • PLC troubleshooting and repair experience.
