About the Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Banquet Chef to join our culinary team at Gecko Hospitality on the beautiful Big Island, HI.

Job Summary

The Banquet Chef will be responsible for designing menus, managing kitchen staff, and purchasing ingredients. This individual must possess excellent leadership skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement banquet menus that meet client specifications and exceed expectations.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including training and scheduling to ensure smooth operation during banquets.
  • Purchase ingredients and maintain inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of menu items.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:

To be successful as a Banquet Chef, you must have:

  • 3-5 years of high-volume kitchen management experience.
  • A proven track record of creating a safe work environment, incorporating teamwork and professional development.
  • Success in controlling costs associated with running a profitable business, including food, labor, and beverage expenses.
  • A strong passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
