Senior Manager Accounting Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Accounting to join our team at Blue Yonder. As a key member of our Controllership function, you will play a critical role in supporting accounting operations and financial control to ensure timely and accurate reporting and processing of transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting for areas including payroll and related accruals, intercompany, prepaid assets, fixed assets, and accounts payable for the Americas.
  • Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of all assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), local accounting requirements, and internal policies.
  • Lead and develop high-performing accounting teams, providing coaching, training, and mentoring to team members.
  • Streamline, automate, maintain, and improve processes and internal controls to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency within the organization.
  • Evaluate processes and procedures used by the team, identifying opportunities for improvement and serving as an advocate for change.
  • Collaborate with leaders across departments to drive business results.
  • Assist with the monthly closing process and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead in identifying training needs of the accounting team and develop training programs to ensure minimal ramp-up time and continual development.
  • Support the production of periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and provide analysis before and after the closing process.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations as requested and assist in managing the annual financial audit for completion by the deadline.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 7 or more years of related experience are required.
  • Previous management experience is required.
  • Active CPA license and public accounting experience are a plus.
