The Nurse Educator - Surgical Services position at St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a critical role in enhancing professional practice and providing quality patient care. As a key member of our clinical education team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based educational programs to promote professional competency for nursing and inter-professional staff.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
- Provide orientation programs to promote employee retention and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluation results.
- Design and implement educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences.
- Develop activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill, and practice.
- Promote and integrate evidence-based practice to continuously improve patient care.
- Conduct, encourage, facilitate, and/or participate in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Identify and develop strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other clinical field.
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other clinical field preferred.
- 3+ years' experience in an acute care setting.
- 2+ years' experience in clinical education preferred.
- Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license in accordance with law and regulation.
