We are on the lookout for a proactive and skilled Junior Legal Counsel to enhance our esteemed legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our firm, collaborating closely with partners and clients on significant legal matters. This role demands a strong dedication to professional integrity, exceptional legal acumen, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee a varied caseload, encompassing both civil and criminal legal matters.
2. Conduct comprehensive legal research to bolster case preparation and strategic planning.
3. Draft, review, and refine a broad spectrum of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
4. Advocate for clients in court, articulating arguments and presenting evidence in a persuasive and effective manner.
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, striving for optimal outcomes.
6. Collaborate effectively with partners, paralegals, and other team members to ensure the seamless management of cases.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution.
- Admission to the Virginia Bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal practice experience, ideally within a law firm environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, adept at navigating complex legal challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey intricate legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- High attention to detail and precision in work, coupled with robust organizational and time management skills.
