Position Summary:
The Trailer Repair Technician will possess a diverse skill set that integrates various trades, functioning as an electrician, carpenter, welder, and mechanic. This role requires a proactive individual who can swiftly troubleshoot and maintain all trailers and associated equipment within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and resolve issues with new and existing equipment.
2. Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
3. Conduct inspections of wiring and perform necessary repairs to ensure smooth transportation operations.
4. Repair damaged trailers and maintain critical safety functions, including trailer brakes and drums.
5. Perform annual inspections of trailers to guarantee compliance with DOT regulations.
6. Address any concerns identified during daily driver inspections to uphold trailer safety standards.
7. Assist with other maintenance tasks, including light preventive maintenance on forklifts.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Commercial DOT certified trailers.
- Familiarity with FHWA safety standards.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring, carpentry, welding, and mechanical systems related to trailers.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, including wiring trailer lights and welding skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with employees, contractors, and the public.
- Attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed thoroughly and safely.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina to remain active throughout the shift, including climbing, standing, and lifting as required.
- Brake Certification is preferred.
- Experience in forklift or automobile maintenance is a plus.

Work Environment:
The characteristics of the work environment are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Employees may need to lift up to 75 pounds and adjust their body position to perform various tasks throughout their shifts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including eye protection and safety shoes. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. A good sense of balance and coordination is essential.
