Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
The Procurement Category Manager is an essential position within our organization.

This role will be pivotal in overseeing procurement operations for the manufacturing division, concentrating on gift packaging, labeling, dry goods, and the wine sector.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with formulating and implementing sourcing strategies, nurturing supplier partnerships, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring cost-efficient procurement.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a procurement expert to utilize their skills and contribute significantly to our organizational success.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement sourcing strategies for designated categories, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing to secure optimal value for the organization.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, executing improvement plans as required.
  • Oversee the procurement of gift packaging, labeling, dry goods, and other materials pertinent to the wine sector.
  • Collaborate closely with production and demand planning teams to guarantee timely material delivery and manage inventory effectively.
  • Continuously identify and execute cost-saving initiatives, enhancing efficiencies and savings across the procurement function.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor tactics, and industry advancements, leveraging this knowledge to guide procurement decisions.
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities are in sync with company goals and customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of procurement experience, ideally within a manufacturing context.
  • Certifications such as CAPS (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and ISM (Institute for Supply Management) are mandatory.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier relationship management and performance assessment.
  • Strong capabilities in cost management and contract negotiation.
  • Experience in executing sourcing strategies.
  • Familiarity with gift packaging, labeling, dry goods, and the wine sector is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of vendor management, production planning, demand forecasting, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
