Job Overview
Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Contracts, the Custodial Operations Supervisor will oversee the janitorial staff assigned to the designated facility. This role is crucial in ensuring that all cleaning operations meet the established standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications related to hiring, training, time management, supervision, and evaluation of janitorial staff.
- Possess knowledge of OSHA regulations and Material Safety Data Sheets (MDS).
- Demonstrate expertise in janitorial and custodial practices, including the care of carpeted and hard floor surfaces.
- Maintain floor care according to contract specifications, including routine buffing, annual stripping, and waxing.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively conveying information both verbally and in writing.
- Manage relationships with individuals facing various barriers to employment, including cultural differences and disabilities.
- Be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Show exemplary supervisory and leadership skills on-site.
- Promote performance quality and ensure satisfaction among customers and visitors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Contracts.
Job Duties:
- Train janitorial staff on effective cleaning methods to exceed contract specifications.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of schedules and timesheets to corporate.
- Conduct daily inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
- Supervise operations to guarantee adherence to contract specifications.
- Handle administrative tasks, including time management.
- Collaborate with the Director of Contracts and Case Management to evaluate employee performance and program effectiveness.
- Assist in setting up and monitoring inspections and reporting for contract compliance.
- Act as a liaison with contract officers and their representatives to ensure compliance.
- Provide a safe working environment for staff and company personnel.
- Ensure maintenance of the plaza and surrounding areas.
- Be prepared to assume on-call responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Contracts or as needed for contract changes.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs, push, and pull.
- Handle dust, dirt, and sharp objects.
Working Conditions:
Involves both indoor and outdoor work environments.
Interpersonal Relations:
- Effectively manage and relate to individuals with diverse disabilities, personalities, and cultural backgrounds.
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Contracts and Job Coaches to ensure program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with others in a team-oriented approach.
- Communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.
- Exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in management or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping roles.
- Motivated to assist others, particularly those with disabilities.
- Must meet federal security requirements.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
