Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Screener to join our team at CSL Plasma. As a Medical Screener, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plasma collection center. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting donors, conducting registration procedures, and verifying donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet donors and assist them in completing the screening process, including assessing their health history and performing health screening tests.
  2. Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including explaining the screening process and health screening tests.
  3. Register applicant and transfer donors based on training completion and operational needs.
  4. Answer telephone calls and respond to questions from donors and internal stakeholders.
  5. Maintain alertness and awareness of any reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify relevant staff.
  6. Collaborate with Group Leaders and Supervisors to address donor flow issues.
  7. Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three months' experience in a clerical or customer service position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
  • Basic math calculation skills.

Working Conditions

The Medical Screener will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The role may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and required during specific tasks or in certain areas.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
