**Job Summary**

Lima Memorial Health System is seeking a skilled Coder - Outpatient to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coding all outpatient medical records for our patients.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Review entire medical records to determine if documentation supports code assignment
  • Review charts for specific regulations, such as medical necessity
  • Code and abstract outpatient records
  • Perform charge duties as requested

**Requirements:**

  • Associate's degree or completion of a certified coding program
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CCA certification
  • Minimum of 6 months of outpatient coding experience in a healthcare setting of similar size and scope

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Knowledge of group mechanics, medical necessity, clinical documentation, RAC's and other review processes
  • Proficiency with reimbursement and MS-DRG's
  • Basic competency with Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Quantim encoder and Meditech
