Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Coder - Outpatient to join our team at Lima Memorial Health System. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for accurately coding outpatient medical records in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and code outpatient medical records to ensure accurate and compliant coding
  • Apply knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and compliant coding
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and compliant coding
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or completion of a certified coding program
  • Current certification in RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCA
  • Minimum 6 months of outpatient coding experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of group mechanics, medical necessity, clinical documentation, RAC's, and other review processes
  • Proficiency with reimbursement and MS-DRG's
  • Basic competency with Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Quantim encoder and Meditech is strongly preferred
