Job Title: Student Visual Designer

The Arizona State University Outreach Hub is seeking a highly skilled and creative Student Visual Designer to join our team. As a Student Visual Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and integrated visual solutions for all electronic and traditional marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of creative print and digital designs using various Adobe programs
  • Build presentation materials, comps, and mock-ups
  • Select compelling photography to support fundraising goals for digital and print materials
  • Develop conceptual ideas as guided by client input, team direction, and project objectives and purposes
  • Develop and produce concept boards, mock-ups, and electronic files
  • Articulate ideas in the form of sketches, print-based design comps, and project mock-ups
  • Maintain accurate records and upload/download archived files into servers and digital asset management systems
  • Accept and interpret client input, feedback, and mark-ups
  • Assist design and department staff as required
  • Research, gather, photograph, illustrate, typeset, and produce visual content for projects as needed
  • Work as part of a team, creatively and independently
  • Be an ambassador of the ASU Brand
Requirements:
  • Exhibit attention to detail and a high degree of openness to new approaches and ideas
  • Strong understanding of design and layout
  • Collaborative nature, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment
  • Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, writing, and by phone
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners and University business and confidential prospect information
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
  • Highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Working knowledge of the Mac computer platform
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to modify existing files (copy edits, photo modifications, and resizing)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at Arizona State University
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Storyboarding, animation (Premier Pro/AfterEffects)
