Job Title: PLC Controls Technician

Trident Seafoods is seeking a skilled PLC Controls Technician to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for our automated seafood processing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and assess existing automated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues and guide or perform adjustments to minimize downtime.
  • Support maintenance and repair of equipment as needed.
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of SOPs and ensure location staff is trained to standard.
  • Minimize downtime to ensure consistent production flow.
  • Ensure equipment, tools, and materials are in stock and ready for projects.
  • Oversee or perform implementation of equipment upgrades.
  • Assist with development of automation opportunities for manufacturing equipment or processes.
  • Provide information for proposals and presentations as requested.
  • Acquire working knowledge of Trident's warehouse management system (EAM) and requisition and asset management programs.
  • Acquire knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented.
Requirements:
  • Heavy industrial automation experience or a combination of formal training and directly related experience.
  • 5-7 years' experience with industrial automation troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (500, 5000, Studio, Factory Talk View HMI, Power Flex).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate process measurement equipment (4-20ma, 0-10v).
  • Experience calibrating weighing systems.
  • Ability to adapt current PLC systems to changing plant needs.
  • Basic network troubleshooting (Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP IP).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Arc flash safety training.
  • Robotic experience (Kuka, FANUC).
  • Prior experience working with food processing equipment, preferably in the seafood industry.
