Job Description

Mingledorff's Inc is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for providing commercial support and estimates for commercial projects quoted by the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and Analyze Plans and Specifications: Carefully review plans and specifications to determine the products required for each project.
  • Translate Plans into Product Lists: Translate plans and specifications into a specific list of equipment/products needed for each job by selecting the most suitable equipment for each application.
  • Prepare and Complete Engineering Submittals: Prepare and complete accurate and timely engineering submittals for projects, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
  • Estimate Pricing and Prepare Quotes: Estimate pricing for the products required for each project and prepare quotes for customers, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
  • Obtain External Vendor Pricing: Obtain external vendor pricing, special quotations from Carrier and Engineered to Order (ETO) pricing as required for products, while maintaining competitive pricing levels and maximizing gross margins.
  • Coordinate Prior Approval Requests: Coordinate prior approval requests with the engineering services department to ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Territory Managers: Partner with Account Executives and Territory Managers on projects/jobs to maintain customer satisfaction and ensure repeat business.
  • Seek Out Training Opportunities: Seek out training opportunities to expand product knowledge and understand processes to enhance the customer's experience.
  • Handle Write-up and Order Entry: After submittal is approved, handle the write-up to be turned into an Order Entry Administrator.
  • Facilitate Sales and Pre-bid Meetings: Facilitate sales and pre-bid meetings to determine sales strategy for projects estimated.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Answer calls and provide customers with a high level of customer service, ensuring that all customer inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Work Cooperatively with Others: Work cooperatively with others to achieve team goals and objectives, maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures: Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Field of Study: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field of study is preferred.
  • Commercial HVAC Experience: Commercial HVAC experience is a plus.
  • Customer Service Experience: 2 years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Proficient Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills in MS Office and Adobe are required.
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
