Overview

Suburban Propane is a dynamic company with a rich history of serving its employees and customers for over 95 years. As a Corporate Trainer, you will play a crucial role in leading company training and coaching efforts. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, implement, and refine training and coaching programs to ensure they effectively reach field personnel. You will also conduct training events based on adult learning principles and support coaching initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training programs in various classroom formats, using relevant training support materials and tools.
  • Facilitate/coach targeted skill-building programs/courses supporting employee training and development.
  • Design and maintain training materials to facilitate the development of skills required for effective employee performance that support Suburban Propane's vision and values.
  • Present using established and effective training methods, techniques, and ideas.
  • Participate in the evaluation of training effectiveness, and work with others to take appropriate action to implement improvements.
  • Quickly master training content and be resourceful in consulting subject matter experts and other resources to add to your content knowledge.
  • Use the training material as a guide rather than a script; establish credibility with the audience by knowing the content, providing relevant examples, and linking material to the audience's job experiences and challenges.
  • Assist in developing new training courses associated with the identification of skill gaps, new products or services.
  • Study and develop skills to enhance the training experience; proactively seek evidence of audience engagement and comprehension; adjust training accordingly.
  • Set up and maintain training environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a corporate trainer and/or facilitator
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated proficiency in both oral and written communication
  • Able to clearly and effectively present ideas in discussion and oral presentations
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and self-editing skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasking, priorities, and deadlines
  • Possess strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills and able to meet deadlines for reports and other required paperwork
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with multiple applications to support coaching responsibilities such as call recording applications, HRIS programs, etc.
