Job Summary

As a Phlebotomist/Registrar with Berkshire Health Systems, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory. Your primary function will be to collect and process blood samples from patients of all ages, while maintaining accurate patient and specimen identity. You will also be responsible for coordinating and processing all specimens, as well as accurately ordering tests and labeling tubes and specimens.

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients of all ages
  • Maintain accurate patient and specimen identity
  • Coordinate and process all specimens
  • Accurately order tests and label tubes and specimens
  • Interact appropriately with the community, hospital staff, and physicians
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot/maintain proper operation of business equipment
  • Teach students phlebotomy skills

Requirements
  • One year of experience as a phlebotomist
  • One year of experience in a hospital environment preferred
  • Phlebotomy trained
  • Proven typing ability (40 wpm) and computer skills
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak the English language in a clearly understandable manner
  • Valid Mass driver's license preferred
