Heavy Equipment Technician

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Univar Solutions, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our transportation fleet. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all vehicles, conducting inspections, and repairing or replacing parts as needed. Your attention to detail and mechanical expertise will ensure that our fleet is always in top working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on all vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and address them before they become major problems.
- Repair or replace parts as needed, using a variety of tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and in good working condition.
Requirements:
- Specialized training in Cummins diesel engines, Eaton transmissions, and Rockwell differentials is preferred.
- Experience working with heavy-duty truck suspensions and brake systems is also a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
