Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be responsible for performing distributive and clinical pharmacy activities related to home infusion therapies. This includes:
- Developing and overseeing policies ensuring safe practices for infusion therapy handling.
- Coordinating new referrals and admissions through collaboration with nursing and customer service teams.
- Reviewing and verifying patient orders, documenting them accordingly.
- Assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals in planning and implementing patient care.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of employment.
- At least 2 years of experience in specialty pharmacy or ICU/critical care, with plasma-derived therapy experience highly preferred.
Pursuing continuous learning and professional development is crucial in this field. You should maintain thorough knowledge of pharmacotherapy by reviewing literature, attending in-services, and participating in conferences.
Work EnvironmentThis role operates primarily in a clerical office setting, using standard office equipment. As part of our team, you may also travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions.
